Hello, A few days ago Ioana (my daughter) spotted a rock - a white rhiolite matrix that included an agate. She asked me to cab it for her. I was surprised that she saw the potential of that rock, as it was pretty ugly with that white rhiolite almost everywhere. So I cabbed it for her today. It was a sort of self-designing cab, because I didn't start from a slab I'm so sorry now I didn't think to picture that rock before cutting it It resulted a very high domed cab, about 14 mm max height. Its length is 40 mm. I was afraid to make it thinner, for not loosing that banded pattern in the center. So, here it is: backlight; it also has some tiny metallic inclusions: a couple of pics for shine: Thank you for looking, Adrian

Your daughter has a great eye, I'd say! I love the metallic inclusions. Any idea what metal they might be?

That's a beaut Adrian. Your daughter sure has an eye for rocks. Do you have her cabbing yet?

It's a beauty Adrian, sometime back I said on this board that my goal was to see someone walking down the street wearing one of my cabs. That has happened but I get the best feeling when I see one of my daughters wearing something I made for them so I am right there with you.

She picked a great stone for you to cab, and you did an excellent job on it. You're getting good fast!

Thank you everyone! I can't wait to frame it and give it to her, hopefully for Christmass. Tony, she's not cabbing. At least not yet . She's still young, going to 14. She's also kinda scared when she sees how near must the fingers stay from the rotating wheels. Adrian

I really like it it. It's very unique. Talk about shine -- I can clearly see your camera in the reflection, lol

I've redone it because of the two fractured areas in the top-left (see first pic above) and also because of the scratches, which weren't noticeable in real, but showed themselves in the 3rd pic above. I told myself that Ioana deserves something better. It would have been pity if those two fractured areas would have been lost sometimes in the future. so, here it is the remake: Thanks again for looking, Adrian
