I had my cabs laying around my computer, around the genie, in various little boxes, etc. I bought a few Riker mount displays in an effort to bring some organization to my chaos. The first picture has various jaspers and misc. The next picture contains various agates The last picture contains my collection of picture jaspers including some Bruneau jaspers. Not sure Bruneau is considered a "picture" jasper, but I had to put them somewhere LOL.

Wow Great collection! I use Rikers that were designed for Zippo lighter collectors and they exactly fit two 30x40's per compartment. I think I like the top Riker in your collection best. Lots of different orbicular jaspers there and I love that green and yellow Kabamby and the Morgan Hills stuff. And shoot, I classify Bruneau as a picture jasper too. Only other way would be if you classified it in an all porcelain jasper grouping and included it with Willow Creek, Carresite, Morrisonite, Blue Mountain, Mojave etc...Mel

Damn Cal, that's a pretty impressive collection of cabs. I hadn't realized you were doing that much cabbing.

OHHHHH! YUM!!!!!!! These look as beautiful as a box of fine chocolates and I just adore fine chocolates!!! What a treat to see all of these!!! Beautiful cabs; beautiful craftsmanship. I think you have been holding out on us...BUT with these displays it's like getting a pictorial Christmas Present!!! Simply beautiful!!! Especially the cheerful yellow one in Column 1, Row 5 of the first display! And Column 5, Row 4 in that same photo. And the one in Column 4, Row 3 in the Picture Jasper box looks like an erupting volcano. And ... okay, I'll stop now! ;D Thanks so much for the "Present"!!! They are definitely delicious!!! Lady B

Oooh, nice cabs Cal! Wish I had some of that stuff... oh wait, I do! ;D Thanks, Santa! ;D Oh, I guess it's not nice to gloat. Sorry Nice boxes. Has anyone ever used a shadowbox display on the wall, or a coffee table with a glass display top? It seems a shame to close them up in dark drawers, but I guess we all only have so much space in our homes (and sometimes, only so much tolerance from our families!) Congrats on getting organized before the New Year (when lots of people make resolutions to get organized!) Amy

Oh, I really like that last box. I'm always amazed at the scenes in picture jasper. I love the colors of the fist box, and the translucency of agate...but I'm also a big sucker for picture jasper.

I prefer the glass top rykers. I have about 50 of them and another 10 or so that are empty. I started sorting the boxes into like material. This one needs to be merged into some other boxes:

WOW!! That's a beautiful collection!!! Displaying them all together like that really compliments the collection I think. Beautiful!!! Now, would you mind passing them over so I can see them a little better? ...

Mel, I would love to have a porcelain jasper collection. I have had my eye on some Morrisonite and Carrasite, but no go yet.
Stoner, I surprised myself. I thought 3 Riker mounts would have been plenty. You cut a few here and a few there, after awhile you have a bunch!
Hey Star, I like the open mounts like yours! Can you hang these on the wall and have the cabs stay in place? The ones I have sit on my coffee table in my office, but I would like a way to mount on the wall. And, install some spot lights to highlight the cabs.

The backing keeps the cabs from sliding around, but I don't think enough to defy gravity. I have the boxes stacked on top of each other on a table and I can find a particular cab with a little effort. When I get done with my sorting I should be able to find a cab in a few minutes. For hanging on the wall, maybe some double sided tape on the back of the cab would keep things in place.

Jeez Cal that is a fantastic collection. I have first hand knowledge of your great work and beautiful rocks. I have one open mount like stardiamond (your cabs are in there by the way) and I think they would stay in a verticle postion. I'll try it out tonight.
