Ladies and Gentlemen - thanks to Susan we now have a Wicked comp board. Susan wrote and asked for a place for the comps - its a good move because they tend to drift about a bit etc. Just as a thought - it may be good to post all comps in here - and all votes in here aswell - but if you instigate a voting type competition - then its best if you also promote it in the main board by saying youve raised a new comp and tell peeps that they should visit the competition board to see it. This way old comps float out and new ones come in at the top etc. Is this OK everyone? I thought it cool and thought its good organising aswell. Cheers All and if you want it to stay as was then give me a shout. Mark

Can anyone post a competition of sorts? Like, for fun? I create wire tree sculptures and am fast losing ideas on what to name them. I just can't name another tree "Wind in the Willow". I could use some ideas!
What I'd like to do is post a sculpture and have people suggest a name for it. Then maybe a poll to see which one everyone likes best.
Is this doable?
Oh, and in keeping with the site premise, yes, all my sculptures feature rocks prominently: zebra jasper, rose quartz, peach quartz, rock quartz, hematite, selenite, desert rose selenite, and so on.

Eileen, take a look through the various competitions that have been previously held of you'd like to get a better idea of how to set it up. All you have to do is post the specifics to your contest and offer a prize to the winner.

Okay, I did post my "Name that Tree" thingy, but it's really not a competition.
Would this type of thing be better served in the General forum, perhaps? I have a lot more trees I'd like help naming.

;D Sounds good to me to have a competition area, and to post it in the other specific main board area.
