I am rock hunting somewhere on this earth. It is really cold tonight but tomorrow should warm up enough that a coat and maybe some gloves will be warm enough. There are other things to do here until it warms up enough to rock hunt. I am looking forward to finding the banded agate and chalcedony located here along with a lot of other rocks available in the area. Well, I am going to retire now and climb in my warm bed. I will talk to you tomorrow. Sheri
NOW..........the contest is.........WHERE AM I? This will be a question and answer contest. You may ask 15 questions each, as long as the question is not "Where are you?". You may sumbit an answer as many times as you like. You will have the answers to questions others ask. I will let you have a little information each day on how the hunt went. Of course I am not really there but it will be fun to imagine I am there. This contest will be as much fun for me as it will be for you, I hope! Once your 15 questions are done, if you have not guessed where I am, you are removed from the contest! Pick your questions carefully. I will be picking my answers carefully! I will do my best to answer your questions quickly. The winner will get a flat rate box full of rough including agate and jaspers. Big ones and little ones will be included! I will post pics of the prize when I get it together and ready to go. In a day or two. Have fun!! Have fun!

*chuckle* I'm so agast and in awe of Don's list of questions, I don't even know what else to ask except:
"What are the common colors of the banded agates to be found?"
" Are you hunting in areas of volcanic rocks or sedimentary rocks?"
" Are cacti a dominant plant group in the area?"
" What season is it where you're hunting?"
" Would the most common greeting heard be: Howdy? Hola? G'dye mite? or Cheerio Bwana!"
"When you flush the toilet, does the water swirl clockwise or counterclockwise?"
"Oh yeah! Is there a flush toilet within 50 miles?"
" What venomous animals are in the area?"
" Can you drink the water without getting sick?"
" Have you been here before or is this a hypothetical trip?"
" *L* Will you have to consult books or the internet to answer all our crazy questions?"
Gee this is fun!.....mel

How far from your real life home are you? I consider it far but then that is my judgement, it depends on how many miles you consider 'far' is. What direction are you from your home? West Are you still in the USA? Yes If you are not in the USA, what country are you in?

DON -
1) Many speak English here 2) I don't know and am too lazy to ask 3) It hasn't rained since I have been here and the guy I asked has no idea. 4) Yesterday or today? 5) I have seen a creek but no river. Of course today is only my second day! 6) don't know cause I havn't seen a river. 7) I prefer fast food to restaurants so I couldn't tell you. 8) Heck, I asked two ladies and they walked of without answering. 9) the ladies walked off! 10) I could have sworn I seen a couple of 'weed' plants but I am really not sure! 11) I aint seen no river so I aint seen no fish. I did see some minnows in the creek. 12) I seen some people hiking and sight-seeing 13) Jeez........you think I have a computer with me? I think the nearest city is quite a distance. 14) I can see the stars, clear as a bell! Thousands of them!! Millions of them!! 15) This dude told me there were snakes and I hear some type of dog howl at night.

SABRE -
I have found some pinkish banded so far.
They told me that Volcanic rock can be found here.
I see lots of cactus
It winter, silly,
I just say 'Hi' not to many people around.
I am not watching the toilet flush to answer this question!! GROSS!!
I stopped at a gas station on my way here but I don't know how far out it is.
The only thing they told me about was snakes. Dont know if anything else is venomous and I hope I dont find out!!
I am drinking the water and so far have not been sick.
This is my first time here. Never been here before.
Some of your questions require a computer but I dont have one so you are crap out of luck!! LOL
