OK, it was difficult and fun in the same time to make a choice, but here it is (in alphabetical order). Initially, we planned to pick a favorite name each of us (my daughter, my wife and me) and to give marks to the other names in order to pick two of them. We stucked in complicated maths , and finally the President (my daughter) had the brilliant and simple idea that each of us to pick another favorite name . That's why we picked 6 names instead of 5, but I hope you don't mind. Meantime, the contest was endangered by my wife who, looking at the names, saw this stone more beautiful than before and told me not to give it (don't worry, she was just kidding) . Here is the rock again, together with the close-up: [glow=red,2,300]This vote will be ended Thursday (29 March) at 3 PM (RTH hour).[/glow] In case of equal votes, it's the President's decision ! Good luck to the finalists, congratulations to all the participants. Thanks again, Adrian

Trying to narrow down the list of names is always the hardest part to do. It seems there are always way too many good names. Thanks for the contest Adrian.

Would it be a bad thing if someone cabbed this piece Adrian or would that be bad?
Nice slab - I can see how hard it would be to let go...

The picture on the left is a giant buffalo on it's hind legs with a man standing below him with arms and legs spread wide.
The middle one is a cliff scene with a lake and river below the cliff.
The one on the far right is Casper the Friendly ghost...... Or a grotesque Little Lulu
I gotta go take my meds now.

No Twetiepy! It's a pleasure to know this rock will reach to another rock-lover.
And cabbing it doesn't bother me, I just would be curious how would the cab(s) look.

Well, if I win it Adrian, I'll cab it all up and send you a couple of the cabs, maybe spark a desire for you to start cutting cabs!

Ed, don't be so sure you can do so many cabs from that slab. In my opinion, 2 maybe 3. But I admit I have no idea of cabbing. Thanks ayway, I will be very pleased just if you would post them.

It's amazing how a piece of rock can lead to such a variety of visions.
Because no-one had the same visions as mine, I can tell you now my only two visions before I have started to read yours:
1. The Loch Ness Monster (head with vertical neck in the left side, body in the right side);
2. In my second vision, the brown spot looks like a man that runs quickly, leaned very much to the right, while an avalanche or a volcanic ash cloud is coming from the left. So, I think I would have called it "Running for Life" or "Pompeii Scene - AD79"
Come on, folks, vote for your favorites! 22 votes for 21 concurrents is a little too few.

Sorry, Toad. I did it now. I saw the Ripples in the first picture, but anyway I might have post the close-up for the Cellular Surprise, too. I also will give a few more days for the vote, till Thursday 29 March, 3PM RTH.
