Well, it shows some of you had read the clues very carefully, but still no exactly guess. The closest guess is now 995 g. Keep trying, don't give up!

The REALLY LAST clues:

Rock no 6 is not in any of the three combinations;

All the three combinations have three rocks between the first seven ones.

Congratulations, Tonja (Lady T), you were very determined on this contest and it seems you have read carefully all my clues.

Your last combination is one of the exact ones:

1+3+5+11+12 = 1001 grams

But let me give you the weight of all the rocks, in order to check the computations I've made.

So, my three combinations were:
2+3+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14 = 1000 g

I made the tickets for all the 25 participants, folded them and put them into a box.
