Fist and foremost I want to thank Susan for getting this idea started. It was because of her erotic mermaid photos that got my brain jump started. Yes I know I am just a typical guy LOL! I am only allowed 8, so here they are in order down below. Good luck all!!!
The winner of the contest receives the Tear cab and sculpture. The second place gets the "Natural ocean cab"

"A MERMAID’S TEAR"
Her tears fall now upon the hardened sea-rocks,
And slowly slip beneath the pounding sea,
Descending softly to the cave of hidden jade stone,
The cave wherein their fiery love was born.
Did he not feel the same enchanting passion?
Were her kisses lost upon his handsome face?
When they touched was she the only one to feel it?
Did he not want the love she freely gave?
The old, the wise, had surely warned her:
“No Mortal can you ever trust!”
But she who held his hand and kissed his fine lips,
She knew their pure Love would endure.
So she showed him where to find her lovely tear-stones.
Sweetly hidden deep within her special cave.
And she watched his face light up with pleasure
As the lovely jade stones he gently then caressed.
At first their meetings were just playful
As their joining swirled the waters into waves.
But as their passions grew intensely heated
She calmed the sea so he, her dear love, would be safe.
How many times he did return to find her.
How many times he took her gifts to keep.
How could she not believe he loved her
As they shared their passion in the jade-blue cave beneath.
But now she sits upon the hard rock
And gazes round the lonely, empty Sea.
For having once been gifted with the Perfect jade stone
He no more comes to frolic with his Mermaid.
Yes, now her tears fall on the barren sea rocks,
And gently slip beneath the pounding surf,
Where they will slowly turn to Mermaid tear-stone
For another love to one day find and keep.

A Mermaid’s Tear
The gallant Lad from San Jose
Dons his diving gear
Slips into the water
As he has for many years.
He seeks the Mermaid’s treasure
Stones and bits of glass
He collects at every venture
But he never sees the Lass.
The Mermaid lingers watching him
Enchanted, from below
Amidst the rocks and seaweed
For she will never show.
She loves him from a distance
Though he’ll never see her Grace,
Her Beauty
Or A Mermaid’s Tear
Slide softly down her face.

I wait.
I wait for you.
I wait upon this rock, after the tide leaves, and the small creatures gasp for water, and this rock is dry.
So am I.
I wait for you.
I wait in the sunlight. It burns.
I slip into the sea, when the sun is a fiery opal in the sky.
I return when the moon is a cool and comforting mother, and I wait.
I wait, until the sun burns again.
I will wait.
I will wait for you.

Mermaids r hot
Mermen r not.
Her tears of jade may be or may not,
But I don't care.
Mermaids r hot.
I can't think of anything else,
Poetry ain't my thing.
But that first stanza I got,
all because....
Mermaids r hot.

A Mermaid's Tear
Into the ocean they fall
Into the ocean she slips
Beneath the blue ripples
Down to the blackened depths.
A faint glow all around her
Shapes in the darkness
slipping beyond sight
Forever fearful of the sun
Rising, the weight of the water
slipping behind her; air bubbles sinking
beneath her; faster, her glow gone
the sun blinding; air all around...
The water world gone
For a moment; one of air.
Warm breezes and smells
Sounds which touch only her ears
Back amongst the waves
Her love no where insight
The sea dripping from her eyes
Falling to the rising waves.
Tears, suddenly transformed; still falling,
to rest in the darkness. Some filled with love
Others a mix of sorrow,
The rest only happiness.

The Mermaid's Tear
She waits; this enchantress, this nymph of the cerulean sea, for Thee!
Her crocodile tears, so fake and insincere, to lure you to the briny deep.
Her siren's song, the fatal call, allure and mariner's temptation,
The Mermaid's tear; the sailor's fear and eternal lamentation!
She weeps for the windjammer, all the while guarding her precious jade. Her lure and the navigators ultimate damnation!"
Be Ware! young lads and cover your ears! or fall to your fate for the Mermaid's Tears!

"Mermaid's Tear"
Beautiful dreamer, drifting sadly on the blue
She sees the sunrise and reaches out with a plea
Her love will never know but her heart aches for eternity
She never cares how much she is adored
The ocean caress her with tenderness, delusion
Wrapping around her, holding her, loving her.
She does not feel, the desperate velvet touch
Nor does she sense the angry stirrings of desolation
Her heart is only with the one who has never known
She cries her lonely song
And with every tear that falls,
The giant sea tears up a storm
She lies across the rock
Her head lowered in defeat
Goodbye my sweet dear.

MERMAIDS TEAR
I was diving off Laguna Beach
And my air was getting low.
When from the corner of my eye,
I saw an eerie glow.
When I got to where I thought it was,
There tangled in some wire
Was a shape ; a form; “a mermaid.”
And my air would soon expire.
She looked at me with mournful eyes,
Though she didn’t seem to fear,
And underneath her golden hair,
Was that glow that drew me near.
The wire had cut her near in half,
I could tell her end was near.
Then she reached and passed that stone to me,
As though trusting, without fear.
So for many years I kept that stone,
The same blue as her eyes,
And with the trust she placed in me,
I fashioned this awesome prize.
So now you know the story,
Of that stone I hold so dear.
That to you may be a treasure.
Though to me it’s a mermaids tear.
