ohmygosh!!! I won a contest!!! I can't go to Vegas because my luck doesn't run that way - maybe now is the time! Adrian thanks so much for the contest - I had a blast reading about and learning about Lesvos - I now want to go and feel like after all the reading and searching I did I should be on my way soon! As for finding that tree...all my friends call me the queen of the internet - whenever they want something found on the internet they call me - apparently I think a little differently than most people and I find things quickly that they've spent hours looking for. I've never been sure the thinking differently thing was necessarily a good thing, but, TODAY IT IS! Anyway, that tree is pretty striking and in reading about the Pet Wood forest there on Lesvos, I recognized it in a picture. I was just hoping to find either the ranges of the trees there, or if lucky, a picture with something in it for size reference. What I actually found was a picture with the size of the tree! I hope this wasn't counter to the spirit of this contest! Please let me know if so! The hotel I wasn't as sure on - I knew Petra was Greek for rock - and I thought I had come across a hotel named Petra when I was looking - but I wasn't sure and was running through some of the names of other hotels and looking up the greek translations of the words - when I ran out of time. This morning I found (and now seem to vaguely remember seeing it on these boards at some point!) that heliotrope means bloodstone and I knew that had to be it. All in all, I've learned quite a lot about a place I really didn't know anything about - which is a prize in and of itself as I love to learn! However, I'll not turn down the prize you have offered! ;D Thanks again for a great contest - now back to dreaming of Greek islands, sunny beaches, and HUGE pet wood trees! er...I mean, back to work. (thanks Kate and Tony!)

Wow, congrats onewomanarmy. I spent a bunch of time trying to match those balcony railings on the internet, to no avail. You got me on the heliotrope/bloodstone part. I tried to find a reference to the tree, too. I found one other photo, but no size info.
I'm going to have to turn in my Masters in Library Science - or maybe I'll just cross out my name and put yours on the diploma instead! You're an honorary reference librarian now!!!
Congrats on your wonderful prize. Thanks for the fun contest and awesome incentive, adrian65!

I was hating the thought of possibly having to be disqualified for inappropriate use of the internet! Thanks for the new title Amy! Given I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do when I grow up it may come in handy. And it sounds so much more professional than Internet Queen! That could be taken in too many different ways as far as I'm concerned! ;D

Holy Cow! ;D
Those look awesome - and from a whole world away! I can't wait!
Thanks for the pics Adrian - gives me something to visualize when I'm trying to will that package across the ocean. Not that I've found that helps, but it keeps me from following the mailman around the neighborhood.

Ha! You crack me up. Following the mailman... in fact, there's been a memo to all mail carriers to keep the FRBs out of sight to avoid being mobbed by RTHers!
