I have been enjoying the commentaries from the voters. There have been some great critiques and some fun tributes re: the poems in the Contest. There has also been a wide variety of winning choices. On one topic, however there has been tremendous consensus: the degree of difficulty in choosing a winner!
Here are just some of the comments that have come in with the votes:
I knew at least one of the voters was having trouble deciding when I saw the title to the PM that voter sent to me..."This is so hard!"
One Anonymous Voter explained the reasoning behind the choices made:
"I like the shorties. I used the word shorties instead of Hikeu, 'cause I didn't want to look up how to spell Hiku. So if you want to put Hikiu in place of "shorties" that is really what I intended....Ha! Three chances and still I didn't get close, lol. Haiku, haiku, haiku."
Which then inspired this little free verse:
Reading over the PMs has been a treat for me. I appreciate everyone's efforts to select the top three poems! I know this is not an easy task!
BTW: Have I told you which three I would pick if I were voting?

Whatever I do, I
will, try very hard to spell
correctly the word, Haiku.
