Votes continue coming in during this second week of Judging for the Poetry of Images Contest. By now I hope everyone is aware that all RTH members can cast a total of 12 votes. Please see the thread: Lady B Happily Caves Into Pressure for details on those 12 votes.

Here in this thread I have a display of the First Runner-Up Prize Pool choices. The FRU Winner will have his or her choice of 3 slabs or a fossil Venus clam geode. If the FRU Winner decides on the slabs for his or her prize it will be like a Chinese Dinner Menu. The winner gets to choose 1 slab from Column A; 1 slab from Column B; and 1 slab from Column C. ;D
Each of the slabs is pictured below in two formats. The first shows the slab backlit with sunlight (if it is translucent) or on a cloth backdrop and the second shows the slab on graph paper marked off in 1-inch squares for size reference.
The Venus clam geode is pictured from several angles as well as on the graph paper. There is also one close-up view of the Dogtooth Calcite Crystals found in the geode. The crystals are visible in several places where the original shell covering is worn through. I’ll leave it up to the Winner to fully expose the crystals if the geode is the chosen FRU prize.
In addition to the above slabs or the Venus clam geode, the FRU Winner will also receive one of these cabs generously donated by Stoner!
The contestants are depending on all the members of RTH to show your support for these Poets by casting your votes. So far each of the 21 Poets has indicated a genuine desire to be a Winner. Your votes will make 12 of them just that!
The FRU Prize is for the best overall poem regardless of the accompanying photo chosen as the inspiration for the poem. (In other words: It is a great poem, but it doesn’t quite match the image in the photo.) This is the poem that jumps out at you and says: "I AM THE BEST but I just don't quite fit the Poetry of the Image I am linked to here." This poem can be serious or funny, long or short, happy or sad, or whatever makes your mind and heart meld with the vision conjured up by the poet's words even though it doesn't quite match what you see when you look at the inspiring photograph.
Thanks for looking and for casting your votes!
