I love contests but I hate figuring out gas for trips. What the hay...here's my guess: $229.30 Thanks for a fun one, Sheri. Glad you are at the other end of this journey!! Lady B

Well, I guess I didn't miss it yet! So, I am saying $222.22. Real scientific, right? My son drives a truck kinda like that, and I could have asked him is mpg, but no time. And oh, by the way, I think you probably need an RTH T-Shirt after all that; I have those in the works, thanks to Adrian, thanks to whoever sent Adrian the sticker .jpgs, and thanks to whoever designed the sticker..... (Sorry, I do know that, but that info is temporarily misplaced, it's late!) PM me your size and color T-shirt pref, Sheri, and I will try to make it happen (eventually; I am waiting for the recipes? ? Waiting!!!!). When I do place an order, the more, the cheaper.

It suprised me as well Cat! I budgeted $200 for gas. I spent the extra on rock at Jamie's yesterday. We went to the Koening agate pile!!

What's kind of creepy for me was that my initial estimate based on my GPS map routing data of the basic route with no side trips and the basic fuel mileage for that truck with an estimated payload capacity of 70% and based on gasbuddy.com prices for regular unleaded at stations along various points on that route for that day was $165 not including any other mitigating factors. I tacked on some extra gas burned thinking it was reasonable to deviate a few times through small towns or rest stops along the way on a long trip like that.
