That works fine for the destination but I need a map that everyone can add their home locations to so that other RTH members that are planning on driving can see who they can pick up along the way.

I am seriously considering making the trip, I have tried to talk my wife into it, but she won't take the time off of work. I will be coming down from Idaho through Utah down I-15 to Black Mountain, then US89 for most of the remainder of the trip (940 miles), anyone along the way need a ride, just holler.

Hey catman, Rod and I know that route all to well. My folks live 15 minutes from the Idaho border and Rodney's parents live up in the panhandle of Idaho. There are at least two places along the way that you might want to stop at to do some collecting, one is just off of I-15 between scipio and Salina, really nice blue agate, not to mention about a dozen other neat kinds and colors of agates. The other is just south of Kanab Utah, lots of petrified wood in that area, not as colorful as the arizona stuff but its still kinda neat. We will be making that drive in about another week or so ourselves, we are headed up to Deweyville, Utah for my Grandmas 95th Birthday. We can't seem to make that drive in less than 3 or 4 days, to many neat places to stop and play at along the way. Maybe Steve Holmes can carpool with you, he said he planned on coming in November so you might want to talk to him about riding together. I'm still working on posting an interactive map, Mark PM'ed me with some info, I just haven't had the time to look into it just yet but I will very soon.

;D Only 2,085 miles each way, should be able to make it in a weekend!!! I wish we were able to make it out for this, but too much already on the plates for now. My middle son is getting married on 10/27 and that is just too close. I envy you all the collecting!! Perhaps I will be able to explore the great west sometime next year. Doug

As this trip gets closer and closer the more I wish I could make it. You guys are gonna have a great time! If I may, I'd like to offer encouragement to any one who is still 'on the bubble'. Trips like this may not come along that often and I can guarantee that it's worth every mile of travel to make it. I know that Jamie will be a superb host and I also know that she's an excellent cook as well. You'll never have a better bowl of Tortilla Soup than Jamie's!!
Please take lots of pics and then take some more. Don't forget to take some movies too!! Since I can't make it I'm hoping to live it vicariously though all of your pictures and stories.

As of yesterday I officially can't go. My kid has been transfered to a Stryker Cavalry Scout and recon unit (Which means he can get a Stetson and a Saber, Remember "Apocalypse now"? That was Air Cav. that is what he is excited about the move, Ha )
Anyway his leave is now definite and will be during the trip. And he will be headed to be in country (where his brother went back to this week) as soon as his leave is over.
I will be there in Spirit, so if you are out alone in the dark and you hear a male voice say HOOBA, laugh and continue what you are doing that will be me. (If female voice, beat feet back to the fire)
