The Houston Gem and Mineral Society Show is Sept. 21-23.
Anybody going?
Last year, a few of us met up at the show and had a good time. Afterward, Blarney, Pho and I drove up to Lake Livingston to pick up about 100 lbs of pet wood and jaspers.
Whose up for it this year?

Guess I better not go. The president of HGMS and I got into it a while back. Some how he took my sarcastic remarks as an insult and said that I would quote " Pay for those remarks"
Sheesh, I'm afraid to show my face in Houston. The guy may know some goons down there. How do I get myself in these messes? ;D
I would however dearly love to pick the brain of Scott Singleton.

Well, hell, Curt, now I really want you to come down.
Dan, sounds good. Let's see who else we can get out there.

Scott's a good man. I used to do the show years ago, and might look into doing the show again. It was usually a good one.

What about trying to set up the coffee chat session during the Gem show? Be a good time as any and if a bunch of us are going to be at the Gem Show,,,,we can meet up and have a good 'ol BS session over some coffee. Suggestions? Ideas?

Sounds good to me. I'm local, so I'm probably more flexible than most. Day, time?

While not near - by a little ways at least - I'm thinking of heading that way for the show. I was planning on taking a couple days off during September anyway, so that Friday would work out nicely. I see what I can swing.

Alright, who's coming to the Houston show? Howzabout a show of hands so we know who and how many to wait for at the door?
Thanks,
matt

Bummer, Curt. Sorry you won't be there.
I'll be there. Any tips for a first-timer and new rockhound, everyone?

Hey folks,
There is a free ticket to the show just awaiting someone to claim it. The ticket is courtesy of the generosity of Sandy (Pagstones), who is a Houston Gem and Mineral Society member. She will not be able to meet us at the show Friday, unfortunately. But I believe the ticket is good for the entire weekend.
So, anybody want a ticket? First one to post a reply here gets it.
