UK Gem Fair - Newton Abbot - 22 Sep

Well been to the fair.

It was really sad because the last time I was there I bought a load of slabs and chunks of rock from a really nice, knowledgeable guy. Turns out that he died quite suddenly recently and there was just a picture of him in a frame at the entrance - I'd only met him the once but he was so nice that it kind of put a dampener on everything.

Anyway, most of the exhibitors were selling beads and jewellery so it wasn't as good this time although I did have a long chat with a couple of chaps who were faceting and cabbing and I got some info about importing a Genie and a great website in Hong Kong that sells really cheap diamond products that the faceter chap swears by - so the trip wasn't all in vain!!!

I really want to go to the one at Kempton Racecourse cos that is supposed to be massive......
