Howdy folks, Went by the Oxnard show for a bit this morning. I needed a new tumbler as my old Lortone broke down again this morning. Very nice show with fine displays. My favorites were the gemstone display that shows cabs of gemstones from all over California and one that had some pretty fancy silversmithing with fine cabs. Not as good as Ed's of course, but nice. Checked out the silent auction and was surprise to find they had a bounty of old Cathedral Agate hunks. I didn't get any because after they knew what they had the prices went way up *L*. Beautiful stuff but I didn't really need any and had spent my dough on the new tumbler. One hunk was about 5 pounds and maybe 2 inches thick. Don't see much of that anymore. Lots of nice whalebone and Lavic Jasper too. Pretty darn good show for a small one and it was fun to go look at rocks instead of birds for an hour or two.....Mel
