Have you all noticed this?
Ask anyone about rocks, and any and all social barriers are gone in a flash. No more issues at all. Just rock talk. I found that out tonight.
There's been a gal I've been concerned about. No life, not much family, etc. We talk about rocks, sometimes. She used to do jewelry, but not for many years. I gave her a few of my tumbles over a year ago, and encouraged her. I saw her a few months ago, gave her another rock.
Months passed....
Tonight, out of the blue, she gave me an amazing rock, and a 'desert rose' that I never knew existed. I have been trying to take pix of the amazing white quartz 'rose', but I can't do it justice. The rock she gave me kinda shows how it formed. Way cool!
And she has a job now. And she wants to get a driver's license for the first time in her life. (I think she's in her 50's?) She is also going to work on her jewelry making again.
She told me my rocks "inspired" her.
I was flamboozled!
I was so thrilled when she gave me something so amazing!! It was a huge step for her, to actually have the confidence to give something to someone, and know it would be very well received!
Such a small thing (like a rock) can make such a BIG difference. Thanks to you all, for helping me do that. K

Rocks are indeed relaxing, beautiful, and also they are the best super glue between us here.

Karen that is so cool and so true. Even in family situations, I never had a lot in common with my sister in law until we started talking about rocks. She lives in a great agate area and loves to go rock hunting so are planning some outings this summer.
I think rocks inspire kindness in people because it's so easy to see the beauty in nature and that makes it easy to extend that kindness to others.

Fantastic and uplifting story, Karen. Thank you for sharing it with us. Rocks are truly Gifts from Mother Earth.
I hope your Rock Friend continues on her positive journey! And blessings on you, too, for being in her path when she needed a truly caring person!
