Yeah! Awesome George! Thank You Very Much!
Between that and other tidbits, clues, and rumours, I'm sure I'll be able to find at least some of the stuff I'm after. It's been raining on and off here for the last few weeks, but it looks like it's over. If it doesn't rain any more before this weekend, hopefully the ground will have dried-out enough to allow me to go out and get some of this stuff.
I finally found clarification on the Amethyst! It's by the Noonday mine, which is in the general area of Tecopa and the date farm. The Noonday mine was a major Gold producer in the late 1800s, along with several other mines right near it. There's also an area near there that's supposed to have some nice Chrysocolla.
It looks like this will be a fun little outing. On my hunting menu are: Agate, Jasper, Pet Palm, Amethyst, Chrysocolla, Obsidian, and whatever else I find using the directions you just gave me, George. Although my aging camera is quirky (it's storage medium is floppy discs), I'll try to take some pics to share. If it continues to stay dry, hopefully I'll get to take a trip up to my Chrysocolla soon, too! I'm down to less than 100 pounds of it, here!
Now I'm going to make a decent map of the area, so that I hit all of the areas in some sort of order, and hopefully find everything without getting lost.
By the way, George, I moved to Pahrump from Cincinnati about 8 years ago! I lived in Norwood, right behind Marge Schott's Buick Dealership. Don't buy the BS about Marge ... she was a SWEET lady, and gave me Reds' tickets several times for chasing thieves away from her car lot. I even walked Schottsy once!
