Man, I don't know that one though it looks a bit like Zephyr Stone out of Arizona. One of my favorite things about this site is getting look at pics of all the new finds everyone makes!....Mel

Welcome aboard Tim..my guess is some kind of Jasp-agate...the colrs and patterns are really cool...Sabre52 mentioned Zephyr Stone, from AZ...but I can not find any reference to that name for a stone...I am sure someone else will jump in...it is too cool of a rock....I am sure some one will recognise it soon...Rich

That is a WAY cool rock! And I have to say, my first thought was pizza, too. But then I wondered which rocks would cause that type of formation? Especially with the solid white banding? Checking my new books, LOL. What fun! And what an amazing rock!!! Please let me/us know what you find out? Thanks so much!

I could be wrong, but....
From the right hand edge where the white/red fortification fades to pink, I'm thinking it looks a lot like some of the Tabu-Tabu African Jasper- not a typical piece but rather one at the edge of the formation.
I used to think Tabu-Tabu was only the red white and pink breccia, but last year at a show I saw some that looked more like this- with the swirly multi-hued matrix intrusions, so that got me thinking this stuff could be more of that.
Yep, the more I look at various pieces doing an internet search, I would say now with some degree of confidence that you have there a slab of African Tabu-Tabu Jasp-agate

OK I apologize for the poor quality but this is a picture of a picture taken indoors without my tripod. This a a picture of Zephyr Stone from my quartz gem notebook ( my own little five volume self created book of agate and jasper information). I was first told this was from the Mojave Desert in California but have since had a couple of folks claim it's from across the border in Arizona. Had to footnote this page with the new info. I've only seen two slabs and both resembled your example quite a bit. I'll let you folks decide what you think.....Mel

I have something similar that I got from Patti, (agategrrrrl) that is from California, at least I think its similar, guess we will see after I post the picture. anyway, you may want to ask her if she knows what it is, if you aren't 100% positive its that agate from Africa. This is another similar variation that I found in Arizona, no reds though. Not much help with your ID but I thought maybe some brilliant RTH-er might be able to tell us what mine are too.

Desertdweller.....nice move trying to get the ID for yours as well...lol...well I have no idea...in reality I guess it is more likely to be a local stone...but that name Tabu Tabu..sounded so exotic....I was hoping it was that one...lol....it would make such a nice story..here I have a slab of Tabu Tabu...let me tell you the story of how it came into my possesion....lol..anyway..thanks...whatever they are...they are nice looking rocks..Rich
