I'm trying to do some research... peoples experience... about which they prefer. Which is easier to work with, looks better etc. Along with the best sources to buy either one. My brain is seizing trying to convert selling by the ounce on one site, to by the foot on another... and by the pound on a third. I'm currently looking at buying from these folks: www.landofodds.com/store/wire.htm

Yeah.... I realize that, plus the content differences between argentium and sterling. But I've talked to some people who have had problems with the argentium silver, being black and not the content that it should be.

Argentium is supposed to be tarnish resistant since it uses some germanium in the place of some of the copper. I have heard nothing but good things about it although I have never used it. It would probably be a little more expensive then fine or sterling but has some good properties.

I have used it and I do not like it. The colour is off. I do not like the way it solders either. It looks too much like rhodium plating.

I've used it and have some...I like it. I think it depends on where you buy it. I got mine from Hoover and Strong. I have to say...lots of times in this business of jewelry...you get what you pay for. The hardest thing about using argentium is finding "findings". They are slowly making it into the market finally. It is harder than sterling silver, but I haven't found it to be hard to use. NEVER use the same cleaning cloths that you use on ANYTHING else. Same with tumbling...you must clean your drum. Otherwise, you contaminate the argentium...this you do NOT want to do.

I get mine from rio. I absolutely love it. I live near the ocean and normal sterling tarnishes very quickly here.
