Kate, (my Secret Elf) ;D It turned out to be a nicer than expected day....nice enough to drag the ol' 16" saw out and do some rock slicing. Elf Kate sent me a beautiful chunk of Crazy Lace in my Box of Goodies...and it was just dying to get cut up. I was able to get 6 nice slabs off this piece, and I still have a nice chunk left. I thought that this particular piece lookied like a piece of Polyhedroid Agate. I'm not sure if it's possible to occur in Crazy Lace...but I don't know why it couldn't. I guess Mel would know the answer. Anyways...enjoy the pics. Thanks a Ton Kate and Bob! Huge Hugs heading your way from Utah. first faced slice last slice Crazy Lace with some Utah Sunshine coming through! Steve

Beautiful lace Steve! Many specimens of Crazy Lace do have those geometric effects. The lace veins and nodules occur in a limestone base rock and the geometrics are usually pseudomorphs after aragonite, another calcite mineral. Hence, some of the geometric patterned varieties are called "Dogtooth Lace" ( after dogtooth calcite /aragonite crystals), "Chinese Writing Lace" or "Zig Zag" Lace......Mel
