tony. it looks like you know about putting a high dome on Boulder opal. it brings out more color. Ive been using zam with a buff to Polish. one thing i did. i put a two part epoxy. that they put on coffee tables. i Polish it the best i can then put a thin coating on. this will work with other stones. now this is not shellac. it is deferent. and some say it is cheating. mike

Great lookin stone. When you do everything possible to bring out the best in the stone and it looks as good as it ever will, that is NOT cheating it's called PRIDE IN WORKSMANSHIP ! A few types of stone need a little help being all they can be. Have you checked into Jamie's waterglass treatment ?

Only the ones who sell opal for a living think that way. For the hobby person, does it really matter? I think if you have some real low budget opal that is falling apart, you have no choice but to keep it together lol!

Those are great, Tony! I am amazed you could work with that orb on the middle one out to the edge. Glad it didn't crumble on you. T
