We are planning a trip to Lordsburg next month and would like to have some info on collecting sites. We are hoping to stay for a few days and as much details as possible would be nice. Also any recomendations on place to stay (inexpensive ) would be a great help. Thanks for any help in advance! Garry

The obvious.... Rockhound state park, near Deming (just about an hour east of Lordsburg).
The only time I've stayed in Lordsburg, I wasn't footing the bill... so I'm not sure the cost.... But there aren't many choices, from what I remember.

Gotta say when the football team loses to Lordsburg ( ) each year, the team just takes the drive to Las Cruces to stay the night. It's about 2 hours away from there.

I live about three hours from Lordburg, and I can tell you I have never found any collecting sites out there. There really isn't much of anything there to begin with. For a place to stay, go down Motel Blvd (no pun intended), and you will find a few hotels. Not the greatest, but good and reasonably priced. There is (or used to be) a nice rock shop on that street too.
