I caught it a few weeks ago. I thought it was really a good one...and it looked like it would be alot of fun hunting for Lakers. Are the farmers and people who own the gravel pits actually willing to let you hunt on their land?? After I watched it I thought the e-bay Lakers would sky-rocket. I still haven't won any so they are still out of my budget. How far are you from where they were Cher? Steve

Hmmmmmmmmm Brainard is about 125 miles away if I remember correctly. Yes, they do let you collect rocks in their feilds after plowing, most would do anything to get rid of the rocks. ;D My daughter called me and we're already planning a trip down there in the spring, I have a niece that lives there so we have a place to stay too. Can't wait!!!

That was a week ago or so, Cher. They went to go diving for them also but the weather got pretty rough on them.

Go get me some decent rocks, Cher!!! Please!!! I will pay your gas and postage! (Depending on the gas mileage, LOL). Seriously, I REALLY want some Lakers. And lots of pix! You should have an RTH party there, and get more members to go at the same time. There are members in your area, right? And I use the term "area" loosely, as within 300 miles or so.

Wish I could Karen, but I won't be going for any of them any time soon. Unless we have an early dry spring, it will be at least May before things are dry enough to go hunting. I have never gone out yet and found as many as they did. Leaves me thinking they may have been seeded for the show. Generally on a good day, I'll find maybe 1/4 to 1/2 a pound, with maybe one or two that are quarter size or bigger. Lots of small tumbling stuff that are still just as pretty as the big ones, just not jewelry size. That's why the darn things are worth so much $$. I'm not the only member in Minnesota but I am the furthest away from any good area to hunt for agates in. Most of our other Minnesota members are in the southern part of the state. And unfortunately, most agate hunters don't share their good hunting spots with anyone. I've asked at a few shows to try and find some places to hunt down near the cities to no avail. One of the prettiest I ever found I made into this pendant. And this was one I sold on ebay, a perfect bullseye. Notice though, it was only 1/2 inch wide but it fetch over $30.

I saw that program the other night and thought it was really interesting. I would love to get my hands on some of those big ones. Makes me want to take the trip up North - lol.

I'd love to get my hands on one too and I live here. The big ones are few and far between for those who don't own the land and gravel pits in the best areas.

I didn't see the program, did they mention that lakers the size of a fist (usually weighing in the 1 lb neighborhood) are called one timers or life timers as you generally find ONE in your LIFE.
