The other night Takila let the dogs out before bed. Sadie likes to hunt for mice everywhere in the backyard and she like walking all over the rocks for the pond since mice like to live inbetween the rocks. There was a thin sheet of ice over the pond and when Marni let the dogs in Sadie was soaking wet. Only one reason she could get soaked, she fell in the pond! I took a picture of the pond today getting frozen over and you can still see where she took her dip. About 11 oclock on the pond. You can see the white ice in the back and then the dark spot of thin ice, thats where she fell in. She is very lucky she was able to climb out on her own or it would have been 30 minutes before we would have checked on them. Sadie the mouse hunter, The ice she fell through,

Man, that would have broken your hearts, especially since Takila is going in for surgery. Whew. Our Bengals agree. Not only are all dogs stupid, yours leads the pack. At least for today. The Redneck dog usually has first place in our home.

Oh and cats; don't even get me started. They are like aliens; can't even put them in the pet category. I got a Himalayan; he has a house full of staff. Woke me up at 4am this morning. Why, only he knows. I put him the lower level with the dogs. At 6am I got up and boy did I get attitude.

Lucky indeed! The fox terrier we had was always getting in the ranch pond and trying to chase frogs and such and was like the worst swimmer of all the dogs I've ever had. Couldn't swim worth spit and would actually swim with his mouth open and choke himself on the water. Almost drowned himself several times. Finally learned not to allow him unsupervised access to water period *L*. Goofy dogs anyway!....Mel

I bet the water was so cold, you missed the infamous flying dog! Cold water can do some amazing things!
