Thanks Roger!
I'll be driving a dark green Honda Odyssey with MN plates.
My plan is Weta on Friday, Conata and Railroad Buttes on Saturday, maybe Tepee Canyon on Sunday. It sounds like it's hard work getting the Tepee Canyon out of the matrix. Is that right?
Roger, does that sound like a reasonable plan?
Steph: I sent you a PM.

What do you find in the Black Hills? Most of the info. I have focuses on Fairburns, Bubblegum and Prairie agate in the Badlands area.

Wow! Wish I could be there with you guys. I would really like to get some Teepee Canyon Agate nodules someday. I got a couple slabs of that stuff a while back and really liked it. I called the rock shop from SD in Rock n Gem and he wouldn't send me any because I wanted them sent in an FRB and he would only send them by UPS insured and that would have cost a fortune.
have fun and post some pics of what you find.

Something Roger said got me to rethink my Saturday night stay. We're going to stay in Rapid City on Saturday night instead of Interior. I can't figure out the membership deal with Hart Ranch, but I'll give them a call first.

Looks like Hart Ranch is out, since I don't have time to go through the sales deal.

We got back last night after a long day of driving (10 hrs). I wish I could have joined Roger and Steph, but the timing didn't work out.
We found a lot of prairie agate (huge by comparison to Lakers), a few nice bubble gum agates, some pet wood that I didn't think was very impressive, and a lot of jasper. No Fairburns, to my knowledge, buy I'm not surprised. I've got to wash the gumbo off of a lot of rock, so maybe I'll get lucky. The prairie agates are really nice.
We went to a couple of spots on the way to Weta (which I thought was easy to find), a couple of spots in the Conata area, Railroad Buttes, and Tepee Canyon. Couldn't find a Tepee Canyon agate seem, but it was late and I was tired, so maybe I didn't look in the right spot. I did find some pretty jasper there, though.
I hope to get some pics posted soon.
