-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It finally warmed up enough in my garage to do some cabbing. The first three are from slabettes that were gifted to me. Thanks Brian(Beefjello). These three are also my first freeform cabs. This is a very tiny piece of poppy jasper. It kept fracturing. You can even see fractures in this piece, where the polish filled in the cracks. It is the only piece of poppy jasper that I own so I was glad it held up. Was afraid it was going fall apart when I took it off the dop stick. It's about the size of a dime, maybe a smidge smaller. This is a piece of chrysacolla. I had a hard time getting a good picture of this so am showing two different shots. This is a little piece of Dead Cow Poppy. I really like it a lot. I just noticed there is some lint on the piece. In the lower right corner you can see where there is a little crazing. Didnt want to grind it anymore, was afraid it would be too thin. This is a piece of picture jasper. It's about the size of a fifty cent piece. This piece of Montanna Agate was void of inclusions except for this neat lokking little flame. On the left of the flame you can see an internal fracture. THanks for looking. ~~Mitzi~~

Both poppies are so beautiful, and the Montana seems to be alife! To me it looks even better in normal light than in backlight.

You know, I really like that picture jasper circle. And the Chryscolla! Gorgeous blue on that piece!

Really like the chrysocolla, poppy jasper and the "Dead Cow Poppy". Where in the world do people come up with some of these names? Please don't tell me it comes from someplace where they found a dead cow. ;D

Great job on all of these Mitzi. Poppy jasper can be really frustrating to work. Sometimes the fractures don't show up until the final stages, and instead of a great cab, you end up with nothing. But when you do get a solid piece, it can be one of the finest cabs you've ever done. Chrysacolla is another material that can be frustrating, but you did a great job on it too. Nice job cutting the Montana and as a side note Steve, the dead cow poppy DID come from an area with a dead cow!

I really like the montana; great job. The second pic of the chrysy really shows all the colors; looks real sweet. Hopefully it will stay warm.

Thanks for all the compliments everybody. I was so glad it was warm enough to play again. I had a ball making these.

Nice cabs Mitzi! I really like your Montana and the Dead-Cow Poppy looks really good. It looks sort of like a marshy swamp filled with lily pads. I think that is my fav! Very Different. Steve

Really nice work on all of those. I like the reflection of your hand in the first pic of the montana, shows how good of a shine you got. The colors in the chrys are outstanding, I love the shape of that one too.
