Please share in my happiness!
This is a mix of rough rock and cut shapes, most of which I received from many generous RTHers.
They spent 2 months in 60/90, some being swapped out, some being rejected due to time constraints (more on that later), until I had enough to continue on to 120/220 for 8 days, prepolish (? from RockShed) for 11 days, AO for 11 days. I used a borax tumble between each stage, and an extra-long burnish of 3 days in borax. Unfortunately, the tiger eye that looked great after 1 day of burnishing is now dull after 3, so I may try some polish by hand, otherwise I'll throw it in the polish of the next batch.
Time constraint, you ask? Yes, my daughter's kindergarten celebrates the 101st day of school by dressing as dalmations. So, of course, I wanted to have this ready for them (thanks LadyB):
Here's the only group shot that came out - still learning my camera:
Some great tumbled shapes, mostly from builtonrock. The longest is about 2":
Some sodalite pieces that would have disappeared, but I kept a close eye on them and pulled them early. Sorry I forgot the scale, the largest piece is approx. 1" x 0.5" and will become a pendant. I wish the triangle on the left were bigger, I love it:
I call these my jellybeans, mostly beach stones collected by my late stepmom (some others mixed in). This photo shows the shine the best of all of these pics:
And finally, a few of my favorites. I've watched all of these for so long, with frequent checking, that I've grown very fond of every one in the batch! ;D
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for all the help, advice, and rocks! ;D
