These are some of the load I dragged home-- the one I'm wondering ( the most ) about is the "melted snowcone" one. Any ideas as to what these are? color is kinda off on these -- but they are pink for the most part. This rough I bought on ebay --some good pieces -- mostly just good for carving Not sure how this post is going to come out -- not used to doing it this way. ;D

The the stone in the first picture looks like it is salt, have you tasted it yet? The others looks like some sort of quartz. Tami

They look like the quartz I find along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.

Creativeminded-- this is the soonest on a messagboard someone has told me to go lick my rocks-- it usually takes a few more posts! On the serious side I don't think I would want to -- "treated" sewage is pumped into the bay -- on the other side but still...
Thanks for the replys guys -- I think the snowcone is quartz --I'm wondering how its going to tumble.

The one in the fourth picture down looks like it might be quartzite. Nice finds though.

I've tumbled some of the beach quartz that I have found and got pretty good results. If I get a chance I'll get a pic posted.

Assuming the panhandle is in Florida you may have some calcite there. It looks similar to the clam/calcite specimens found down at Rucks Pit,,,,,,, Take a small piece and put it in a tad of vinigar. If it sizzles it more then likely calcite. connrock
