Now that I'm cabbing, I'm running into the problem of what to do with all my cabs. I put my tumbles in glass bowls, but I don't want to risk any of my cabs doing that. So, how do you all store yours?

Titania: Here's what I use, Riker Mounts with compartments. Since most my cabs are 30X40's, I get the ones designed for Zippo lighter collectors as each of the 20 compartments holds- 2 30X40 cabs perfectly. I also have lots of other sizes though with more compartments for smaller cabs. I get mine from Smoky Mountain Knife Works as they usually have lots and have good prices but I'm sure Rikers can be had at lots of places. I've taken off the glass top for the pics but it has a nice glass top too. When I transport cabs in the Rikers, I put a pad in each compartment over the top of the stones to hold them in place so they don't bang together in transit....Mel PS: The paper card beneath each pair of cabs holds the identity info on it's back side. The whole Riker:

Mel's Riker boxes are nicer than the ones I have. Mine don't have the dividers, they are just a cushioney material topped with glass. I only pay $4 a piece so I'm happy. I will try to remember to take a pic tonight and post it here.

I use fishing lure storage containers. I picked one up at Walmart that has 4 trays in a handy carrying case for about $20.

Yep, Riker's, but mine don't have any lids, they're just the trays.

I just checked Smoky Mountain at www.eknifeworks.com and the Zippo display cases like I use are $8.99 so Tony's type are lots cheaper if you don't care about compartments. The Zippo Rikers are are 8" by 14 1/2" and have twenty compartments that comfortably hold 40 --30 x 40 cabs....Mel

i also use the Riker boxes. I modified mine though, i lined it with white felt, and then i put a small piece of velcro on the back of the cab, and it sticks to the felt. Holds them all in place fairly well. I copied that from everyone else at the shows hehehehehe If you look around you can get the boxes fairly cheap. I bought mine in quartzsite last year for around $3.00 a box.

Wow, there's a LOT of nice eye candy in this thread! Thanks all for showing me your trays.
Mel, I love the idea of writing the identity on the back of a card...that's a great way to keep things straight.
I think I like the Zippo cases the best...I like how neat and orderly they keep everything. I'll do some looking online today to see what sorts of prices I can dig up.
