Howdy folks, Been noticing we don't have many pics to look at lately. It's raining outside so I thought I'd post a few for ya to look at . Thanks for looking.....Mel These first couple are from Rons Rocks. Ole Ron always seems to have something that interests me at the shows he sells at. Unnamed oddball plumey, mossy agate he collected over around Coalinga, CA. Ron has a great connection in Durango, Mexico and always seems to have some neat moss agate from there. This is one of my favorites as it has everything from plumes to fortifications, tubes and little orbs etc. This is from an E-Bay buy. Don't see it much and it really doesn't work up well as it's pitty but sure is pretty, Morocco Jasper. Yard sale find, nice slab of Indian Fancy Jasper with some cool little poppies. Gonna cab this one to add to my poppy/orb collection. And finally, Keegan Ranch Tube Agate from Oregon I got at an auction my gem club put on.

I've seen the Keegan Ranch Tube Agate cabbed with a neat feature. They sliced it rather thin and backed it with Basanite, Lapis, Red jasper, etc. It turned out to be rather attractive, and it enhanced an already fascinating material. Bob

Is that Ron's Rocks from eBay? I've bought stuff from him in the past. In fact I bought my All-You-Need 8" lap from him probably 7 years ago. Still running strong.

Yes Rock, same guy. Only rockshop we have here at all locally and he sells both through E-Bay and lots of shows. He really has some great quality rough and slabs and hos booth prices are very fair.
Bobby: I've seen the Keegan as a doublet too and think that's really the way to go with that stone as it's kinda ehh without the darker backing....Mel

Hey Mel, it's me, the dummy. Why is the Morocco Jasper a Jasper? I see all kinds of fortifications in there. Opaque I suppose? Love the tube agate. Tubes are one of my favorites. Curt

Curt: I'm with you but I didn't name it. I'd guess they called it jasper because most the material is opaque but I'd call it an agate if it were me.....Mel

A doublet of Keegan with abalone back really makes a nice cab that just jumps at you...the tubes seem to move. Woody
