Ain't these pretty? The seller calls this Mountain Fern rocks. I thought they'd look pretty in the yard! TFL!

Wow those are terrific dendrites! Are they strictly on the outside or are they three-D?.....Mel

Nice. I have one plate of this too. I think dendrites are just on the surface on my piece.
Not sure about that name though.

I'll get hold of the guy I bought it from & ask if the pattern goes all through. I saw he had another hunk on ebay. (I'm thinkin Daniels right )

OK...Garry the seller says, "It does go all the way through...but changes with layers. In my opinion it is prettier on the outside than on the inside. It looks really good in 3d."

The dendrites are amazing, is the rock hard enough to cab?

I'm not sure Adrian. But I guess if you can cab wonderstone you can probably cab this. I don't think it will polish though!

I've found some similar material to that in Green River, Utah area. My buddy brought back quite a few pieces but I didn't. I guess I'll bring back some next time and give it away to those you are interested. It was in only one small area...but it looked just like that Liz. Steve

Steve- vendor I bought from says it's a Utah rock! Man...if you have access, grab some! I asked him if anyone had ever used it in a paver or rock wall. He said a friend used it on a wall then sealed it & it turned out beeee-u-tiful.
I just gave a friend a hunk of this for his birthday & he thought it was a fossil so I had to explain about the dendrites. He loved it!

Liz, I will be sure to get a bucket or so full. Like I said...it was only in one place, but I didn't look around that one particular spot too hard. I'm sure if I dug around a little bit more, I could uncover more. Steve
