Hello all you cabbers,
i recently started wire wrapping cabs, and for the moment, i'm stuck with buying them. Tax return will be in the bank acct (in theory) late next week, i've already got a work force tile saw slated for purchase, and i've been trying to figure out a good purchase on a vib tumbler for polishing.
Cabela's has a Thumler's Tumbler Ultra Vibe 10 for $125, I've noticed that this same tumbler can be purchased at lapidary supply stores, but for much more....
The question is, would this work for polishing cabs? Or is there a better option?
on the UV 10, i don't have to worry about shipping, as i have a Cabela's about 10 minutes from my house ;D, (this is a big plus as i'm an avid fisherman as well as hopefully a soon to be avid rock hound)
Thanks for any advice
Alex

Make sure the Thumler's is a "Ultra Vibe 10 - Industrial". The non-industrial has a smaller motor and thinner bowl and is made for dry polishing bullet cartridges, etc. The Industrial is needed for tumbling rock and costs more.

Look at the Cabella's Lyman Turbo. I really like mine and it was about 62 bucks shipped. It took a year to wear out a bowl going 24/7. I'd get 5 more of them if I didn't have this fearce rough rock jones that eats my money. If you decide to get one be sure to order two extra bowls for 500 and polish. If Cabella's doesn't have them you can order them from Lyman. T
