What methods seem to work the best for keeping polish out of the druzy when making cabochons? Not filling the druzy...which I have been doing, sure makes for some dificult cleaning. I know of people using sugar, but do not know what technique is used to do this. I have used wax, but this needs to be solvent disolved, so I have posed this question to the forum. Thank you, Woody

The sugar trick works when you are dopping you place a piece of scotch tape over the face and fill it with sugar, dop it and then remove the tape and sugar whala no wax in the duzzy pocket.. but if you are tumbling them soak em

Use diamond paste on a leather belt and you don't have to worry about about getting anything in the druze pockets.

I would think an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner would work or maybe a wash cycle in a vibe tumbler with Tide or Borax.
