Thats brutal, sad thing is it happens every day, just like he said and only a few of the incidents get caught on camera.

Those Jerks deserve a little time inside I think.... and I can't believe that dude is not going to sue!!!
Not surprising tho... and I know it happens..I knew this older guy who got Blitz Faced Drunk...and he got picked up for public intox and ended up dying in the drunk tank... later they found out that the three officers that were called to pick him up beat him silly with their night sticks.. because he wouldn't get on his knees and put his hands behind his back.. he bled to death of internal bleeding...But they would of known that if they helped him that He had a bad leg that didn't bend... and do you think the cops got into any trouble? all they did transfer them to a different state.. and most likely they're still working..
guess that's just goes to show how so many of them boyz in blue abuse their badge...
and why they are called PIGS!

This is by no means a defense of any Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputy. This is simply an observation.
There is something very strange about this video and the many Press reports that have accompanied it. The young man in the video has repeatedly said that when he was dumped out of the chair he fell hard onto his right side. In the video clip that is part of E'dog's link the person falling out of that wheelchair falls onto his LEFT side. The clip then shows Brian Sterner touching his right rib cage and saying he didn't know that he had broken two (originally he reported three) broken ribs--on his right side, the non-contact side.
I also found it strange that, having just been forcefully dumped from a wheelchair, the man in the video just laid there in a flail position--no rapid movement of his head, no shoulder movement (he is a low level quad and does have movement in his arms--notice that when he is being interviewed he is not in a powered chair as was the case for Christopher Reeve, a high level quad).
Regardless of what I find strange, this is still a very unsettling report. The Orient Road Jail is just a hop and a skip from my house. Up till now I wanted to believe that I could trust our County Deputies.
Unfortunately, the people who hire law enforcement employees do not require full psychological testing on all of those employees. Officer Friendly is just a mythical character designed to teach children about how the Law is supposed to work. I don't think there are many Officer Friendlys out there!
WIth no sound to the video it is hard to know what verbal exchanges took place; or what literally tripped that woman's trigger so that she felt upending a wheelchair was the appropriate route to take. What disturbs me even more than the dumping...the unmistakeable laughter of the male deputy caught as he walked towards the surveillance camera. Reactive anger in a deputy is dangerous. Callous indifference to a fellow human's plight is pathetic.

Very disturbing indeed. If something along those lines were to happen to one of us, we'd spend "years" in prison for resisting if we attempted to defend ourself. Oppression at it's finest.
