I just ran 15# of lakers to a beautiful smooth finish and am getting ready to do the polish phase. My question is this, some of them have smallish cracks in them, and I would like ot avoid the polish from getting in there. Its impossible to clean it out afterwards.
I read online that some people coat them in clear epoxy to seal the cracks before polishin. Has anyone done this, how is it done, and is there a special epoxy?
Thanks in advance.

I have used the 330 as well as Superglue and also Opticon. BUT - I did this back in grind stages so the epoxy was ground off the surface. If I had wiped it pretty flat, I just did med grind, but I have sometimes had a small mount and I either sent it back to course, or ground the mound down on a wheel.

:)Jeremy:1.Never let the rocks dry with slurry on them.2.If you still get stuff in the rocks, try using an ultrasonic cleaner.Mike.
