It's been awhile since I've been able to work some cabs and to post them. Sure felt good to get on the cabber again. ;D Lots of pics, sorry dial uppers. This first one sure gave me a lot of trouble. This is from an Illinois geode. Got a bunch of them on ebay. They are mostly crystal. The cab still has some pits but if I had tried to grind them out there would not have been anything left. This was just a practice one anyway to see how the material was to work. backlit I think this one is a little of piece OJ. It could possibly be rainforest but it's not soft like rainforest. I only had the one little piece so had to guess the ID. This one is a piece of rainforest. I posted this before, almost finished and it chipped. I reworked it this weekend. Before cabbing chipped reworked This is a nice little piece of moss done in an almost heart shape. Not sure where this rock came from. It was a tumble. I took it out after the rough grind. I shaped it for a pendant. It does have some internal fractures, but I think it gives it character. I have no clue what this material is. It's pretty soft. This is a pretty soft piece too. I think it might be a piece of Indian Paint Stone. I could only get a satin shine on it. This is a very tiny little piece of Mexican Lace. It was a leftover piece from trimming a bigger piece. This is some kind of lace. Not sure of the exact name. Thanks for looking. ~~Mitzi~~
