this was alot of pressure. a guy brought it to me and said it was cabbed by a special rockhound who had passed on and it had much sentimental value to him. it had a chunk missing on one edge. so i'm worried it might fly out of my hand, worried that it might rip more out of the messed up area...but it did fine and i sent it on it's way. then he brought it back after going to a jeweler and wanted it a calibrated 18mmx13mm. it was 20mmx13.2mm. i have never worried about getting one exact before and i hope i did it right . guess he will let me know. i think the quarter must have messed the coloring up but i put it in anyway for scale. the coloring is more true in the 2nd pic without the quarter. i'm really testing my camera lol. kim

oh and it really is dark light like that 2nd pic. i even wondered if it might be 2 pieces glued together to create that effect. i worried it might be a fracture line but it held together. it is chatoyant on both ends but depends on which way it is turned. never chatoyant on both at the same time.

So I guess if you screwed it up, there'd be another rockhound on the slab? ;D ;D I'm sure you got it just the right size, and you definitely got a great shine. Partial eclipse of the stone? ;D

That's really cool, I'm sure if it was wrong the guy would have come back to you with it.

well done! tiger eye is so easy to "over cook" when you are trying to get it calibrated. you still got the knack, girl!
