This is probably obvious for experienced users, but tyros may benefit. My 10-inch started getting too hot after cutting up a big chunk of Mary Ellen jasper.This material:1.cuts dirty so ,even if you can't see it, the oil may be sludgy and not lubing well.2.this material has a lot of metal inclusion so it may glaze your segmented or sintered blade. After straining the oil and dressing the blade I'm running cool again.Mike PS. the strained oil was still discoloured but thinned out and good to go..

Good advise. Clean oil and slow feed rate will help prolong blade life.

good tip man i had the same prob and everything seemed to be runnin fine and after an oil change the blade ran alot cooler
