Well here is my latest batch, changed formula a little, left out 1st week of 120/220 with no pellets. Can't say I see a lot of difference, except maybe change shape as much, but a little less shine. Wasn't real happy with Obsidian shine, I am going to try Cerium Oxide next batch, which I haven't started yet. Terry 12 days 120/220 w/Pellets 2 weeks 600 w/Pellets 1 week pre-polish(tripoli) 2 weeks AO/Tin oxide mix polish

Wow you sure have some cool shapes in there, I like the dolphins in the bottom pic and the horse too. Nice job on those.

Hey Terry, Nice looking batch with some interesting shapes!
That hematite with jasper bands doesn't look like it polished all that well. Is it better in person, do you think a different polish would help? I sent you a big slab of that yesterday along with a couple other things. Now I'm not sure I want to devote a tumbler and 2 months to a batch of that stuff. Maybe I'll just throw a few pieces in with something else to see how it works for me.
You were all over the Mohs scale with that batch weren't ya!

Bob, I am still working on getting the shapes to stay like I cut them, I had trouble with the Hematite shaping different in places, that is why I dropped the 120/220 w/o pellets, and used softer and smoother stones only to keep flat pieces from sticking together. I am ordering some cerium oxide also to try. But I am going more for shape with a sheen, or light shine than a gloss polish. But the hematite does polish a little better than it looks on here. I have noticed there are different hematites. I have a solid hematite, black, that takes a great shine. So you think this hematite has Jasper, I was told by seller it was just Hematite. Terry

NIce stuff. I really like the glass. I've some slag in my aquariums. Just might break it up and tumble it.
