The fun has begun! Very cool I put down a piece of rubber mat in the "catch tray" on the chance that a slab could break falling off a cut. Whether it's needed I dunno, but gives me peace of mind and it's quieter when a slab falls off! Used a mat like this, but most anything should work. This is probably nothing you don't know... Don't forget that the mist from the mineral oil can cause some lung problems (that I can't spell!) but not as bad as most of the other stuff people use... It's actually (health wise) probably your best option! After a cut I let keep the lid closed for a couple minutes to let the oil drip down and then when I open the lid, I vacate the area for a couple minutes while the mist settles. Looks like it's in your garage, throw a bottle of baby oil in the mix if anyone complains about the smell I haven't had my saw long enough yet to learn whether the oil mist will coat everything around the saw, but it's something to consider. Great looking slabs! Looks like a nice machine in the background too! Thanks for sharing pictures.

Hey Bob, good idea with the cushion in the drop tray. Actually right now I'm kinda depending on the sound of the dropped slab to tell me when to unplug. Well, that and sitting there looking through the little oily window like a kid watching for Santa lol. Once I get a new switch I can hook up that chain thingy and finger out when it needs to stop on it's own.
Oh my, you're not supposed to inhale the oil mist?? I kinda figured it was like a Vicks Vapo-Rub. No wonder I've been hackin' up crude all day. heh
Thanks for the kind words. The machine in the background is my GP-6, which is feeling a bit neglected these days. Actually everything is with our building project, but it's been nice to get a little time to play with the rocks again this past couple daze!
