Howdy folks, Here's todays mixed batch with a little of everything including my first piece of that jasper agate from our newly discovered site on the Mojave. The largest tumble here is almost 4" long and it a Laguna agate with sagenite. Thanks for looking....mel Couple of closeups of the new jasper agate. Polishes like glass with nice depth. Some have soft spots or vugs but still look nice but this one is exceptionally nice.

Killer shine. I really love the depth, color and the internal structure is really cool! I think it would make great cabs as well.

Amazing shine! The one into the close-up seems to be the queen of the batch!

Really beautiful photos. I just got done with the first batch that I did with my kids, and after seeing yours I think I will put them back for another round of polish. We are having fun though. Thanks for sharing you pics

Hi Mel,
Just awesome!! I wonder if you could briefly cover your formula...days, grits-polish. I know its probably been covered before but it may be of some help to the newbies and some of us oldies too!! It is hard to imagine how anyone could do better..can't argue with such success!!!...Larry

Gemni: Sure: Coarse 60/90 for as long as it takes to get smooth rounded shapes with grit recharges every week. Most of these took at least four weeks in CG but some eight or more weeks. Then, 14 days in 110/220, 14 days in tripoli prepolish, 15 days in Rockshed's AO polish and one day in Dreft soap to burnish. I have a dedicated barrel for each stage and use plastic pellets in every stage after coarse grind....Mel

Mel,
Thanks!! It is hard to imagine 2.5 months of tumbling but as I said ...you can't argue with success!!! Patience is a virtue which is not given but learned...same can be said for tumbling...Larry
