The local club had their sale today-thanks for the heads up Cal, we missed you! I got there around 9:20(it started at 9:00) and Rocklicker and his wife were already there and I think Steve had one bucket full already. Now mind you, I live 10 minutes away and Steve drove around 90 miles, and he still beat me there! ;D Anyway, on with the show. I found this cool little agate early on and couldn't wait to cut it. I also picked up some really cool obsidian. They were calling it "electric blue, or purple". I've never seen this stuff but as you turn the rock and the sun catches it just right, it lights up like a light bulb. Here are a few cabs. The first one is the purple. Now, turn it to catch the light and... And now the blue. This stuff has what looks to be mahogany obsidian mixed in with it. Turned the opposite direction... Pretty cool stuff, but wait, there's more. Here they are backlit. That's it for now, but don't worry, there's plenty more to come.

Ed, WOW!
That's a glowing group. I am in love with that first cab! It looks like a crack of sunshine from inside an Ice Cave.
OUTSTANDING. :PS

Those are great. I haven't seen any obsidian quite like that.
I wish I was somewhere for a 50 cent sale.

Yup Ed, we booked it there. We made it in about an hour and forty minutes, probably the shortest time it's ever taken us. That sale was great. Can't beat the prices too. My wife got a kick out you, me and the other rockhounds by the obsidian. She said as soon as the sun came out we were all over there holding up chunks of obsidian and turning them around then pointing at them.
Don't forget about the free section. You found that kick ass box of "rock salad" and I couldn't walk way from the table no matter how hard I tried. ;D
Wonderful cabs. I like those obsidians a ton. They came out really nice especially that mahogony one. I've never seen anything like it. They all came out great. Steve

Ed, I am sure you missed me LOL. If nothing else, if I was along, we might have arrived at the rock sale before Steve. I think the last time we went, we were 10 minutes early, but we were the first in line. Glad to hear that you and Steve found some keepers! Cal
