Where is the best place to look for wood in DFW area of Texas?

Actually there isn't a best place around DFW About all you will find there is fossils. You have to go south to find wood. From George West to the Louisiana border is all good hunting. If you're interested, send me a PM and I can probably help you out a little. Curt

Have you been to Proctor Lake? Its right outside Comanche Texas not real far to go. The lake shore is clean of litter. We found lots of small pieces on the shore but larger ones were found with rebar pokers...lol. I found part of a flint knife blade too and a few fossil shells. The petrified wood was nicely agatized and made a china like clink. Some pieces were drusy as well. If you like crinoids there is a cut out down the road towards Priddy that is overrun with them look for the yellow dirt. <smiles> have fun! AgateHeaven
