Howdy y'all!
I'm new to the rock tumbling thing, but I've always been a geek when it comes to science, especially geology and astronomy.
Anyway, I have lots of questions. Like...plastic pellets?
Looking forward to chatting with you.

Welcome to the forum DewMan.
I usually use broken pieces of tempered glass instead of plastic pellets, they turn round and get polished too, if you can find a use for them. You can usually get the glass for free from your local body shop or local tow truck driver.

I don't like plastic pellets, personally. I prefer to use ceramic tumbling media or another option is aquarium gravel. I've used that and it works well, too.
I should mention...if you want to try aquarium gravel, go with the small natural "river rocks" type...not the weirdo painted stuff.

welcome, dewman!
i use plastic pellets, they are a pure pain in the butt, but they do the trick when it comes to cushioning the tumble in the last few stages.

KD...where do you get them?
Can you use those plastic bbs like for airsoft guns?

Welcome dewman.
I'm a new member myself, you're in the right place to get help and advice! I buy my grit and pellets at my local rock shop, but I see them all the time on Ebay.

No rock shop here. I have to drive 40 miles to the nearest one. But eBay might be an idea. Thanks!
