Come one come all, to a most amazing show , ok with that silly-ness out of the way ;D. The Santa Clara Valley Mineral and Gem Society Show will be Fri-Sun April 4-6 at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose, California. For more complete details and a printable discount coupon visit the club's website ( www.scvgms.org). Karen (my wife) and I will be a vendor at the show. I have a rough map here of the show layout and where our booth will be located. Please make sure to say hi and ID yourself if you visit the show!

Thanks for the heads up Dean! This is far enough in the future that I can actually try to attend, I look forward to meeting you.

I hope to see you there! I've been going to this show for many years and I have been showing my case as a guest exhibitor there for just as long. Its always a great show. Bob

I was thinking of going Sunday morning, but I may take a really long lunch break on Friday and see the show.

Looks like I won't be able to make it . So sorry Dean, but I won't be able to come and lick all the rocks in your booth. I guess it's alright because I'm about to blow my show budget on some of rocks I came across on the internet anyway. Steve

Great show, lots of cool stuff, a great variety of materials and equipment there, probably among the best shows I've been to in a while.
Anybody in the area with some spare time should drop bythis afternoon, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
My big purchase was a short-wave UV light that I've been wanting for a couple of years- last night I found all kinds of things that are florescent under it, and I didn't even get to my slab bins....
And Dean, I feel terrible for not bringing your little map along, I'm afraid I missed stopping by the kids area, and missed meeting you, maybe next time...

Easiest "landmark" - I was the closest to that giant rose quartz sphere (red canvas collecting bucket hanging right there)
Selling lots of miscellaneous Brazilian slabs, Amethyst pieces, Citrine pieces, petrified bookends, etc. Actually, we were the only dealers with Estwing tools at the show.

I haven't seen actual published numbers yet; but, what I was verbally told: Attendance (people through the door, not actual ticket sales because many many are free): Fri ~1300, Sat ~1500, Sun ~1800; first time ever in the club's history for more people on Sunday than on Sat.
