I think there should be a division or separate forums between vibratory vs. rotary, for ease of information seeking. My 2 cents.

LMAO we just recently added this dedicated tumbling section! Looking through the tumbling section for threads with "Vibe" in the title is easy enough.

The techniques and information involved in the two are very different, and just searching "vibe" does not produce near the same informative results as an area specific to each technique.
Just because something was recently updated doesn't mean it couldn't benefit from further changes.

I Dont agree
I think they are both inter conected as most people use the rotary in the first stage in preparation for the vibe
As it stands I think the board deal's with all issues in its present setup without getting too fragmented .
We need contrasts to enjoy the articles we like
(My 2 cents )

No more sub-division, pls. I love having our tumbling section, but man I hate forums that have sub-forums for 50 different areas, each getting two posts a month.
I can see it now: Tumbling osidian forum, petrified wood forum, agate forum, sodalite forum, rose quartz forum, carnelian forum, big tumbler forum, small tumbler forum, I bought these emeralds now how do I tumble them forum... oh the humanity!

;D ;D ;D Just call me Carnac.
From Board Changes notice at the top of this board:
"Pretty soon the vibes won’t wanna be seen with the rotaries and they’ll want separate sections too.
And there’s no way WF slabs should be hangin’ out with real slab saw slabs . . . two more sections.
Split the rocks up too . . . American stuff and Foreign stuff. They don’t seem to tumble well together nowadays."

Sorry snivlem...I'm gonna hang my hat with the boys on this one! I'm still getting used to the changes that have been implemented over the last few months!

Progress is important and and ease of finding what you're looking for has been a problem here.
Mark made several sub-divisions and I'm not used to as it exists now.
More sub-divisions would blow my old mind right now as I'm missing a lot of what I used to be able to find!LOL
I'm lost in a "rock maze" now so my vote is leave it alone!

I like to make sure that I never miss anything. I tell ya, it takes much longer now for me to make sure that I didn't miss anything than it did before. lol

jeez, you'd think I had said to take away the coffee machine at the old folks home....
Just kidding everyone!
I just know that info can get crossed up, and I would hate for someone to be using 60/90 in a vibe, cover the rocks with water, etc. because they thought they were reading about that type of tumbling.
I'm off to the beach- Back in about 10 days with pics of my first finished work!

Use sun screen, and don't take the coffee machine.

Just get a lot of practice with search. Also don't worry too much about the past because the important discussion keep happeing over and over again.

You're 100% right Daniel! The FAQ's get asked over alot & it seems most RTH'rs will either answer it again or point the asker in the right direction. I think it's cool to handle it that way because it seems new info gets posted right along with the old.
