Hello, everyone! Today I cabbed two pet woods. I also prepared them for a future groove wrapping. Here's the first one, a pet wood from Lesbos island-Greece. I like the sweet colors in this one, they have whole standing pet trees with those amazing pink+red colors. As you see, this one is double-domed. I cabbed it from a chunk, not from a slab. the chunk was pretty thick so I made it double domed and here's a side view: I was lucky, all the fractures you see are consolidated. The second one is a local wood. It has a flat face. This piece is from the very center of the branch, one can see the convergence of the growth rings. Side view: Thanks for looking, Adrian

Those are really cool, I like the second one best because of the patterns. The grooves look perfect!

Those look good! Have you thought of making a round cab, making the groove deeper and making it into a stone yo yo?

I'm amazed you can cut such even grooves by hand. The latest craze here seems to be the grooving bit on a glass cylinder grinder. With a flat cab it is simple to lay the cab on the grinder table and turn it with the groove bit at the right height. I've seen nice ones done with a dremel and V-wheel also. My wife has wanted me to "dremel her some" but I've been afraid I'd never get it straight. You are an artist.

Nice work, Adrian! NIce steady hand too. Just drawing a ring around the stone with marker and keeping that straight would be a good days work T
