So if you don't set your cabs in jewelry, but want to display them, how do you do it?

They display to best advantage just above the cleavage, so if not set in jewelry you might try double sided tape. The kind used to hold up clothing that otherwise would fall down.

www.curiogrove.com/stands/index.htm I'm thinking i might order some of these to display special pieces, little stands and such, not sure if this is what you had in mind. hope it helps. EDIT: Don't know if this is the best place to get em from, it was just the first place that came up w/ a search for cabochon display

I don't do a lot of jewelry so I tend to display my cabs in Riker Cases. Another idea is to use old CD jewel cases. Use a little bit of double back tape on the back of the cabs. The following is just one example of a jewel case holding some of my cabs of Tahoma Agate/Jasper. This particular case is a little scratched up but it keeps the cabs from getting all dusty, and I use two colors; black for light cabs and white for dark cabs.

Displaying isn't quite the right word for what I do. I have 4 piles of 10 boxes each that look like this: The closest thing to displaying them is scanning them and uploading to a photo hosting site so I can look at them. If I had the time I would digitally photograph them with proper lighting and upload them. I have 1000-2000 cabs that need photographing so that task is one the back burner.

Holdem - thanks for the link, those caliper jobbies are seksy.
Star - Very, very nice; looks like Riker mounts are the way to go. Any possibility of the glass abrading the cabs? Guess it's not much of a likelihood for quartz on up. Damn good looking cabs, man, no boring old ovals and all with the right proportions.

i use the riker boxes also, but i felt lined the inside of the box. i then put a small piece of velco on the back of the cab and presto chango...........the cab stays in place. I learned it from all the shows i;ve done.
