I am soon going to be travelling from England (UK) to Vancouver (Canada) for 10 days. Can anyone suggest what rocks to look out for associated around these parts or any decent stores which must be visited.

B.C. is quite noted for its jade. It is a wee bit early for fossicking on the Fraser River bars, but good material is available from the rock shops. There is also a new jade deposit that has fee mining, but that may also be a wee bit early. query on B.C. jade to find it...I can not offhand remember the company name but they do have a bonza web site. Whilst B.C. is noted for its jade, there is an abundance of other good material in the Province. Woody

As long as you've already traveled half way across the world, you should take a detour to Las Vegas. Since you'd then be only 60 miles from me, you could join me for a trip to my Chrysocolla mine ... fresh air, good exercise, beautiful scenery, and a backpack full of Chrysocolla.
