I am looking to upgrade the wheels on my grinder to diamond. I wanted to get them from Jadecarver but he informs me that he is out of 80 grit and only has 50 and 120. I could accept a 100 but 50 is too course and 120 too fine for a first wheel. He doesn't have any idea when he will get more and I'm not willing to wait. Does anyone else know of a source for decent quality affordable diamond wheels?

The only wheels I've used are DP, Crystalite and Jadecarver. My first wheel from his was a 220 and it was very agressive when new. It cut faster than my worn (but not warn out) 80 grit DP. In fact I started at the 220 until the 80 grit DP caught up. If I were in your shoes, I would order the 120 and use it until an 80 was available. I really like the Jadecarver wheels.

Titania, thanks for the link. I checked it out but they only have one 8" wheel and its 260 grit.
Thanks Rich, I don't know why I didn't think of John myself, I have bought from him before and was very happy.

Hopefully John can hook you up!

Check out Arrowhead lapidary supply. I shopped around and they had the best prices on 80 grit diamond 8" wheels. You may want to give him a call because I think I got the last 80 grit he had and I don't know how often he gets them. If he is out he should have a 100 grit. Nice guy.
Kinglsley North is my next supplier for diamond wheels. They have nice prices on their own line of diamond wheels. Also nice people to deal with. Even when they have an unreasonable customer having a hissy fit (that would be me by the way...).
